Active Build • Flagship Project
The Bug Out Truck1992 Ford F-150 4×4
What started as a daily driver and work truck is being rebuilt from the frame up into an all-around off-road truck. The plan includes an LQ4 6.0L, 4L80E, NP205, upgraded TTB suspension, built rear axle, 35-inch tires, recovery gear, and plenty more. Follow the build from where it started through the current chassis rebuild, with plans, parts, videos, progress, and future updates all in one place. |
This is the project closest to becoming reality. I’m actively watching for the right car, at the right price, in the right condition.

Actively Looking
1996–1997 Ford Thunderbird 4.6V8 Highway Cruiser
The next project I’d most like to add to the garage is a 1996–97 Thunderbird with the 4.6L V8. Unlike the Bug Out Truck, this wouldn’t be another all-out ground-up build. The goal would be a comfortable, understated highway cruiser that keeps the character of the original car while improving the things that make it more enjoyable to drive. THE IDEA:
4.6L V8 • clean body • subtle suspension drop • tasteful wheels • darker red paint • comfortable long-distance cruiser |
Not every idea will make it into the garage. These are the vehicles I’d love the opportunity to build someday if the right one — and enough time — ever comes along.
A small Ford street truck with V8 power has always appealed to me. Rather than building another off-road truck, this one would go in the opposite direction: low, clean, simple, and built primarily to be fun on the street.
Few cars represent affordable Ford performance better than a Fox-body Mustang. If the opportunity ever came along, I’d want to build one as a clean street car rather than an extreme race build — something that still looks unmistakably like a Fox Mustang but performs considerably better than stock.
